Mongolia's National Park System is unique in the world. Up to 30% of the country will eventually be protected by the government and Mongolia has one of the world's oldest protected areas, established in 1778.

Currently there are 48 protected areas within Mongolia divided into four categories. The Bayan Olgii province alone has 5 protected areas including Altai Tavan Bogd, which contains the nation's highest peak.

Cultural Celebrations
